OK, considering the quick reactions to my other question, on my Specialized Epic FSR Comp carbon frame, there are a number of holes which are not plugged – in the attached photos you can see them, and the second photo shows a hole that IS plugged (lower part of the frame) – Are these holes supposed to be plugged?

All that holes on the side of tube are for clamps of front ferailleur cable = they are no longer needed and can be pluged.

      1. You do not need to create new thread for each new question, you can pose question in existing one
      2. The center hole in the picture 1 is where normally the front derailleur housing comes out. Two holes on the side and the one in the picture 2 are there in case you want to route rear brake externally to attach cable guides. But normally, rear brake is routed internally, so these holes serve no purpose.

        One correction:

front derailleur housing usually comes out just next to rear derailleur housing, so the center hole in picture 1 is not for cable, but there should be a bolt (in your case it looks like it is missing) that you tighten and it prevents the cables from moving in or out of the down tube.

Thanks for the guidance – should I buy blanks for those holes, or leave them open?

Side holes used to be open like this from the production, of course you can cover them if you find sth. that fits.
